I absolutely adore Chihuahua dogs! So much so that I have three of my own Chihuahuas, and I love them all. I love to dress them up and it became my mission to find fashionable Chihuahua clothes.
I searched high and low and found some great sites that offered beautiful clothes for small dogs. And the best bit? Lots of the models on the site are cute Chihuahuas!

Choosing Chihuahua Clothes
Many people that own Chihuahuas, Miniature Pinschers, Yorkshire Terriers, and other small breeds love to dress up their dogs. I believe the most important reason to do so is to protect your dog from harsh or cold weather. Chihuahua’s have very short, thin fur. If you don’t protect them from the cold they can become vulnerable to all sorts of illnesses. I also think that doing this can be fun though as there is no reason why you can’t keep your loving Chihuahuas snugly warm as well as looking good!
It can be lots of fun choosing the right outfit to go with doggy that day. Maybe you could choose your Chihuahua’s clothes to match your outfit, your shoes, or your handbag?
It has become increasingly more common to see Chihuahua’s dressed up recently, on the TV and in magazines. Many celebrities are seen out with their Chihuahua all dressed up and looking sweet, just look at Paris Hilton!
When choosing Chihuahua clothes there are some important things to keep in mind to ensure that they are kept safe and that you don’t waste money.
Firstly, don’t buy an outfit that is too heavy or made out of thick material. There are many gorgeous Chihuahua clothes out there that are practical and safe. Remember, first and foremost, you are protecting your Chihuahua rather than finding something that just looks good next to you. Stay away from leather, it really is far too thick for your tiny dog and he or she will quickly become too hot. Cotton is great as it is light and the skin can breathe through it. Also keep in mind that if it is too flimsy it’ll have little purpose. Some of the dresses on sale are just too light. That’s not too say that they are all bad, some are great so be careful when choosing. Wool can also be used if the temperature is quite cold where you live.
Test! Test! Test! Some Chihuahua’s are allergic to some materials so when buying a new outfit for your little one just make sure that they only wear it for a short amount of time for the first few weeks. Once you are sure they are comfortable with it then they can wear it as often as needed.
Your Chihuahua needs to be comfortable in what they are wearing. If their clothes are too big then they can easily catch themselves on items around the house and hurt themselves. If the item is too small then they might have difficulty breathing. Try to measure your dog before ordering to ensure you get the perfect fit.
It is a good idea to invest in quality Chihuahua clothing; with the amount of running round they do you could end up paying twice if you buy some of the cheaper products on the market. It’s good to go for a soft material so that your little pooch can feel comfortable wearing it. Finally, why not accessorize? Many retailers have some great little products that you can buy alongside dog clothes which can really make your Chihuahua stand out and reflect their unique personality.
